Feeling Accomplished!

Trailhead:

Vivian Creek

Trail Conditions:

From my perspective this is one of the hardest peak in Southern California in terms of mileage and elevation gain. Vivian Creek is steep to start but after a mile or so levels out and let you catch a breath before starting the first set of switchbacks. Most of the hike is is shade which helps a lot. After about 5 miles there is an awesome spot with incredible view of San Jacinto, good spot for a longer break. From there another set of switchbacks for about a mile. Afterwards little break before you start climbing the last 2 miles. Make sure to stop and take in the views. The summit was cold and windy but the feelings of accomplishments made the long climb well worth it. Conversed with other hikers, took some photos and the walk down was uneventful. 2018 SixPackofPeaks – done!
