After failing to finish this challenge in 2019, I can finally say that I have! Mt Tam was a much more enjoyable experience than the first time I hiked it. The weather was perfect, and due to a lack of fog, the view was spectacular. The first time I did this, it was on a hot August day, and the fog was blanketing the city. Plus, with the recent rainfall there is running water, and everything looked colorful and vibrant.

We did have to chase daylight a little because we had to start a little late (and because the days are shorter). Fortunately, we got back to the parking lot just as it was getting dark. Only had to use my headlamp for about a quarter mile at the end.

There was a little bit of an issue leaving because the truck batter died. But thankfully it was very easy to flag someone down and get it jumped. We never exchanged names with the people who saved us, but just wanted to publicly state my gratitude to the two women who so kindly pulled over to help two random strange men on the side of a dark road who looked haggard to all hell and ended up saving our night. Human kindness still exists.
