The hike was amazing.. it was day 2 of our back-to-back hikes, and we were tired from our 20-day hike up San Gorgonio the day before, so we got a late start (7am) and the lot was full. There were already plenty of people on the trail heading up. We tried to scramble around a large group of about 20 Asian hikers but it was difficult because they were at all different levels. Their leaders kept trying to pass us, and then once they did, they would step aside to let the rest of their group catch up. This went on several times and was quite annoying. Other than that the day was great! The boulders and rock formations were spectacular. The manzanita forests were abundant. There wasn't much shade so we were hot, but dipping our hats in the stream helped. The summit was a party! There were other large groups of hikers, and there was practically a line to hold the sign and get your picture taken. This is why we like hiking on the week days :). We took pictures with the summit sign, and with the sign we borrowed from above the mantle of our AirBnB that read, “find the wonderful in today.” Afterwards we went to the restaurant across the highway and I feasted on chili cheese fries and a beer!
