This hike was a difficult yet beautiful one. The wildflowers were out. There were several hikers but in different small groups and there were times on the trail that I was by myself. Despite having hiked this trail before, due to the crosscountry nature of the trail past Siphon Draw, I ended up nearly getting cliffed-out an climbing a more difficult route than the one I had anticipated. The vertical climb just below the summit was on a more difficult section rather than the usual one for most hikers. This was confirmed when I made it to the top and met some hikers heading down and realized I climbed a more difficult route than the usual route. Still, I had made it before my turn-around time and so I went and took pictures and headed down. The way down was easier to navigate and this time I actually stayed on the usual route.
