The day was beautiful and it wasn’t too terribly busy which is great! I have done this one a handful of times and each time I remind myself “stay to the left” as much as possible- “look for the blue and white dots” – it is very easy to get thrown off and off trail so make sure you are always looking. Be prepared with at least 1.5 L and a snack or two .
I stopped at Flatiron for a photo or two and then continued up to Superstition Peak which not many people do – it’s the highest point and you look down on Flatiron. It’s very easy to get off track coming off of that even with trail markers! ( which I did – but picked it up quickly). I was thankful I brought my climbing gloves and my pole for the stretch of Siphon’s Draw heading to and from the Basin! Met a few people coming down – but everyone was pleasant.
