Our group,Heritage Hiking Club, arrived early to take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Hike to Mt. San Jacinto. Our hike began at the Ranger Station which is at 8516′ of altitude.
The weather was perfect for the hike. It was very cool under a shade, but not too hot in open areas. I am usually followed by any insect in the area, but to my surprise there were no insects around.
We met some workers who have been working on pat of the trail for 2 months and we got to use the newdly constructed part of the trail.
The most challenging part for me is the altitude, but following hydration suggestions, fueling properly and staying positive makes all the difference.
