Trail snow-covered at times – Gear and expertise recommended

My 8th peak for the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge 2019. I plan to climb all 12 peaks…. if time permits.

After having been denied twice for overnight permit application, I decided to do a day hike instead.

With the rainy days before the hike I could not have asked for a better weather. The sun came out and the trail condition was just perfect for me. There were patches of snows from Halfway Camp to High Creek Camp then it was mostly covered in snow all the way to the summit. Micro spikes worked but crampons would have been a better choice. Aside from the amazing views along the trail, hearing the sound of the water flowing through Vivian Creek made this solo hike wonderful.
