When we left the house (Chula Vista) around 0615, there was a heavy cloud covering the whole sky. I had to double check the forecast to make sure I read it correctly last night. Though it said mostly sunny, I was doubtful with the forecast. We had a little bit of rain, fog and the heavy cloud was still over us until we hit HWY-79. Then the sun came out. I guess they were right :-).
Arrived at the trailhead around 0820 and started the hike right away after a short break. There was a group of hikers who were set up for camping (50th B-day celebration) and were also about to start hiking. I've hiked this mountain 3x for the past 3 years and I forgot that the first 2 miles is a straight ascent and was a challenge specially with bummed knee.
Congrats to my hiker friends who finally overcame their fear and finally made it through the ladder and rope.
