Experienced hikers think you’re nuts to hike the ridge on a picture perfect Saturday during the summer. We carspotted at Layfayette Campground and the Skookumchuck trail head. On Falling water by 7:30 and VERY busy but the beautiful waterfalls along the way made it worth it. Hit Little Haystack then over to Lincoln, Layfayette, North Lafayette then down the Skookumchuvk trail. Once passed Lafayette the crowds diminished. 10 miles, 8 hours and the most beautiful hike. One of my favorites in New England so far.
