Freedom Baldy

Trailhead:

Mount San Antonio

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Minor obstacles posing few problems

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

Bugs were not too bad

Snow:

Snow free

Cold in the early morning but after a half mile trek, it warms up yet still feels nice in the shade and some breeze. It does get cold due to the winds along with the sun beating down at upon arrival of Mt. Baldy's peak. My first summit ever and I did fairly well. The switchbacks does get confusing, probably because of other trails created off the true trail. Taking it slow with lots of rest during the incline helped me a lot. Downhill was more fun but my toes didn't seem to think so in the end.
