Hiking the day after a rainy stretch in the Valley meant a virtual feast for the senses!  The sight and sound of percolating water accompanied us the entire way up to the saddle. Waterfalls and creeks were a delight. The beauty of this area is truly stunning. The hoo doo formations and sweeping vistas are constantly evolving as you hike closer and further away from them. So intriguing!  The density of saguaro cactus and the lush vegetation make this a unique trail. And is there a better scent than our desert after a soaking rain?  Intoxicating!  Allow 2-3 hours to enjoy the many spots to take in the scenery. You won’t see many more picturesque vantage points as here.  This is a rocky trail requiring careful footing; boots recommended.  After enjoying Weaver’s Needle and the views on our descent we had lunch at Wahoo’s  and hiked Hieroglyph Trail nearby. It offered a different perspective on the area and was a great way to cap off a memorable visit to the Tonto National Forest. Top Notch!!
