Latest hike. #4 on the Southern California 6 pack of peaks.

Started this hike at around 5 am, and was back in the parking lot by 12:30. Parking lot was already getting full this early in the morning. When I left, surprisingly there weren't many cars waiting, although any empty spots were filled quickly.

Of the 4 six pack of peaks I've done so far (Wilson, Baldy, Gorgonio, Cucamonga) I felt this one was the hardest. It was just a steady ascent all the way to the top, with just a small break right after the saddle.

Water wise, took 4 liters with me, since I didn't know what to expect. Used a bit over 2 liters. Also there is a spring around mile 2, and a stream you can fill up around mile 3. So you could get away with a filter and some bottles.

Having left early in the morning, was in shade till I got to the Saddle. From the saddle, got some sunlight, but being as the switchbacks were more on the Northwest side, it never got uncomfortably hot. On the way down though, with the sun high in the sky, it did get extremely warm. So definitely it's worth doing this in the early morning hours.

Bug wise, they weren't too bad. I did get a few bites, but I also didn't put on any spray.

Here is the video of most of the hike if you want to know what to expect.
