I got a late start jumping on the Mount Wilson Trail to summit Mount Wilson.  But the trail was in great shape and the weather was wonderful so I trekked right along to hurry up and get to the top.  I didn't really know what to expect going into this hike and I was surprised by how much you are continually ascending to get to the top.  It definitely made for a good hiking workout.  I got to the top and walked around to look at the different observatories; such a neat place at the top.  I headed down shortly before sunset and as I got about 1.5 miles down from the top I came across a bear on the trail.  I have never seen a bear in the wild before so it was a really neat experience (as well as a little nervous), but I talked calmly to the bear as I waved my arms and after a little bit of looking at each other it traipsed down the hill.  Needless to say I finished the hike with my eyes a little more wide open 🙂  It was a great hike all in all.
