This was a monster.. of a great time!

We headed out on Friday, all packed up with our gear we will be using on the JMT. Left the parking lot and headed across the creek bed/landslide to start our hike up to high creek camp.

The day was very cloudy, was not able to see much until we were a mile or so to camp.

High creek camp is an amazing place. Surrounded by mountians except looking out into the one open slit. A creek runs next to the camp, making water resupply easy.

Saturday morning, we woke and emptied our packs and slack packed to the summit. The non existant snow before high creek camp turned into a winter wonderland above high creek. No real trail minus the footprints of people the day before. The sections of trail going across open bowls (2) were a little nerve wrecking in the morning but patience and spikes got us to the top. We relaxed for an hour, ate lunch and headed back down to camp.

We broke down camp and headed down back to vivian. Feet soaked from snow and belly's wanting food that wasn't made with boiled water…we high tailed it back down to the car. Changed into dry clothing and ate at a very interesting mexican restaurant in town.
