This hike was tough for me. The switchbacks at the beginning of the hike were certainly doable when i expected them to be much worse. What really drained me was the last 2 miles or so of the ascent, I literally could’ve crawled faster. When I finally reached the summit, my watch showed 9.4 miles. Quite the trek. The descent wasn’t as bad as previous hikes due to the mostly gradual slopes, better on the knees. It did get dark on us so the last few miles were done by flashlight. When I say dark I mean DARK. Kinda spooky. Total hike time including numerous breaks and my slow pace, 12.5 hours. Not a land speed record but I did get it done.
