Beautiful surprise! First time on this mountain. The views are incredible. Actually, the entire hike is very attractive and makes for an enjoyable experience. A few pockets of remaining snow. The melt has provided some welcome opportunities to filter water along the way. At 16 miles round trip, I'd certainly be prepared with carrying sufficient water or be prepared to treat or filter along the way. I gave up some water to a hiker who had 1.5 hours to go but had run out at the top. The weather was not that hot. I'd hate to be on A longer hike and out of water!

Note. Our small group met up and got on the road at 4am. We arrived at the dirt parking lot 5:45am and it was approx 3/4 full with cars coming in behind us. I would recommend getting parked by 6am or you'll risk hunting for a space. Low clearance vehicles can drive the rough road if you are slow and careful. It's maybe only 5 minutes from the road to the parking lot so not too long. This is a really nice place.
