A great hike! This was my first hike in the Los Padres National Forest, and it didn’t disappoint. Pretty trail, mostly shaded but some exposed spots. The trailhead is a bit tricky to find, I entered Mil Portrero Hwy into my GPS and then used my downloaded map from AllTrails to figure out how much further up the road the trailhead was. There are only a few spots to park on side of road near some signage, which does not indicate it’s the Vincent Tumamait Trail (that trailhead is, apparently, on TOP of Mt. Pinos). When you park at the pull and look down the hill off the side of the road you will see some signs. The trail starts with a several hundred foot descent, which makes the climb out at the end a bit of a bear. A good day hike!
