We were planning on hiking to High Creek and spending the night and doing peak in the morning. We got to High Creek about 1:30/2. We were filtering water and someone said it was another 2.5 miles to the peak so we decided to go for it thinking we had plenty of light. We left at 3. It took us 3.5 hours to climb 3.9 miles to the peak. It was so hard and I moved so slowly, but we made it to the peak about 6:30 PM. We headed down and got to experience sunset at 11, 500 ft-awesome!! We hiked the last 3 miles or so in the dark back to camp. Luckily, we had warm clothes and headlamps AND my bear bell! What an adventure! We stayed at camp and hiked down the next morning. We logged about 20 miles-don't know why it is listed as 18.5
