Picturesque beyond compare! Take advantage of the pockets of shades as you see them and take in the views each time you stop to catch your breath. I would rate the climb as moderate, was dreading steep inclines but most felt moderate. The way down though, and I’ve got good knees and typically don’t struggle with downhill, bumped the rating to difficult. Saw numerous (this is a very popular trail) hikers fall on their butts as they were navigating their way down. Bring poles, even if you don’t usually use them, I was grateful for them on the way down. Creek crossing twice. When you start the hike, look for three logs stacked side by side, directly across from a tree with a “please don’t carve me post” (you’ll need to walk up to the creek to see them). Red flags secured on left side near the second creek crossing were very helpful in guiding the way. The peak provided gorgeous views, but no USDI NPS marker or hikers log. Enjoy! And be ready to be marveled by the wildflowers!
