It was an unseasonably cool and overcast day, so perfect for this hike which can be brutal in the heat of summer. After summiting, we stayed on the fire road all the way back instead of cutting back down Stevenson. It adds a little mileage and you end up a little further north of the parking lot on the highway so needed to shoulder walk maybe 500 feet or so. We did get some sprinkles at the top, but the wildflowers still in bloom!
