Cool, ”cause I saw some on this hike. This year, I decided to take the steeper Baldy Bowl trail up the mountain as opposed to going up the Devil's Backbone way. I wanted to use it as a training hike for some harder hikes coming up and it was a great training hike.
The weather was beautiful, however it was a wee bit windy at the top. Initially, my hiking partner and I were going to take the Devil's Backbone trail down and do the loop, but I was concerned about crossing the ridge line with stronger winds. There were also some snow patches on the side of parts of the trail, but they were beautiful to see and didn't present any issues.
