Camped 2 nights in Flag (coming from Phoenix) before attempting this hike and it worked out!  No altitude sickness this time, and a beautiful day with amazing views of the Inner Basin, Grand Canyon, and Painted Desert.  We started hiking at 6am and finished around 245pm.  We were very comfortable in our thick base layer tops.  Was never cold enough to need a jacket.  The occasional cool breeze felt great.  All in all a great experience!!!
