I decided to take another crack at climbing to Mount Wilson through Sierra Madre this year.  I had previously gone one day when it was raining and only made it up like 3 miles before I decided it was a little too risky with a bunch of mudslides and pouring rain.  This time around it was nice and clear and a little warm.  I was walking at a pretty fast pace and did not expect to see anything out of the ordinary.  When I arrived at the top (Summit), I saw a lot of people up there and found out there was a race going on.  The race is called Angeles Forest Trail Race.  I stuck around and cheered as some of the final runners were finishing their race.  I ended up finding out some familiar hiking/running friends had participated.  I will definitely be signing up for this Ultra Run next year.  Anyways, I hiked up and ran back down and made it down in 6 hours and 34 minutes for 13.85 miles with all breaks and stops included.  I am never too excited about the views at Wilson but the trails are great for trail running and great place to train if you are running long distance races.
