Finally finished all 12 peaks on the list the day before the storm rolled in. Ended up having perfect hiking weather with clear skies and cool with a slight breeze. Everything was fine until about mile 7 where I hit a wall. I realized I should have filtered water at High Creek and should have stopped for lunch then instead of pushing on to eat up top. That last section is steep, rocky and exposed so you want to go into it fueled up. My pace went from 2 miles an hour to 1 mile an hour. I hiked San Jacinto doing Cactus to Clouds and this felt like more of a slog. It goes to show how important mindset, hydration and nutrition are. I started the trail at 6:45 and was back at the car by 5:30. I ended up having to get the headlamp out around 4. Overall Im happy that I was able to finish all 12 of the peaks.
