Everything we read about this hike said it's best to go in the Fall or the Spring. We, of course, decided to summit in the summer. We agree with everything we read…go in the Fall or the Spring. Temperatures got up to the 90's and there is little shade. The beginning of the trek was very challenging and turkey vultures circled us on the way down…The views from the top were awesome.
