Beautiful hike! Felt like a get-a-way! Trail is really nice on the feet – soft dirt in many places. Was worried when I read it was a fire road but was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was! First two miles are a little steep but not bad by any means. Once pass two miles you get into forest area and it is really pretty. There were small patches of snow in various places – just adding to the beauty.

Once tower is in view on the right, summit is to the left – just follow the pink ribbons in the trees to get you to ladder and summit. Very well marked!

Caution – do not talk so much to your hiking buddy that you miss the sign back to campground! LOL! I should be embarrassed but somehow missed the VERY obvious sign and headed down another trail and got two miles in before I realized! Alltrails did not notify my off route – ugh! So the pleasant 9.5 mile hike turned into 13.5 miles. All good! Rewarded myself with a nice lunch in Julian and a little Mom's apple pie! 🙂
