Hike Log

I was told there would be views…

Trailhead:

Volcan Mountain Trail Head

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

No bugs

Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

The hike was in the clouds from about a half mile in and was very windy once we got out of the trees. The trail was pretty slushy/muddy, which was to be expected since it snowed yesterday. It was a bit slippery at times, but never really required anything more than careful footing. Waterproof hiking boots were very helpful as some of the puddles were pretty deep. We will definitely be doing the hike again since the clouds blocked any views. The snow was beautiful though.
