What a beautiful but extremely hard hike, especially for anyone carrying gear up to camp there like I did. I wasn't really ready for this one but finished it on jello legs. Started at 7am and made it to High Creek Camp around 11am. Water is flowing well and is very cold. The campsites were decent, nothing too special but at least there was water to filter. Set up camp and then headed towards the summit at noon. 3.7 miles from high creek to the summit and those were some steep hard miles. Was on the brink of exhaustion/shut down when I made the summit, signed the register but didn't get any selfies as I wasn't thinking straight at this time. Pushed myself too far.. Rested and ate something to regain my strength for the 3.7 mile hike back to camp. Made it back to camp without troubles but very exhausted about 5pm. Ate dinner and passed out pretty early. 5.3 mile hike back at 6am, back at the car by 8:30. So happy to have completed this peak. One more to go!
