Started at the Sierra Madre Mt Wilson Trailhead. Got there at 2:30 pm and started our hike. The first two miles was hot in direct afternoon sun light. Bring sun screen. After two miles the trail is covered with a beautiful forest and foliage. This trail is very steep and it’s 7.7 miles straight up. Completing this trail is not for beginners. Made the summit at 6:45 pm in the dark. Lights were needed after sun down and for the 7.7 mile return down the mountain. This trail was very well maintained. Watch for signs and markers. Easy to get lost and you will be exiting the trail in a different location if not careful. The trail starts at lower elevations so it was very hot. Took 3 liters of water with me and returned almost empty. This was a very exciting hike and is very recommended. I look forward to doing this again was able to enjoy this hike with my best friend Troy Stiab who is also a member of Social Hiker.  Get out and do it. There’s no better place than on a trail on the mountain.
