My brother and I hit the trail at 08:57, and we reached the summit at 12:09.
It was in the mid 70°s when we started-off, and mid-upper 80°s on the way down.
The temperature wasn’t so much an issue, but the uphill grades were a workout.
Those false summits, followed by saddles, really bamboozled us, lol.
Definitely a rewarding hike, with a nice view of Humphreys Peak (Peak #6 for the AZ challenge) from the summit.
I brought-up a 3L Camelbak, a 32oz water bottle, and a 32oz Gatorade.
The Camelbak was empty just before the summit, and I really spread the other two hydration options thin, on the way down.
Granted, we were able to burn through most of the descent (there were MANY breaks on the way up), one just get thirsty, and I wish I brought more to drink.
