Holy Moly the wind was blowing – and not in a way to push us up the mountain.     Trailhead is easily marked – lots of tree roots and rocks on the lower half – above tree line all lava rock and challenging to maneuver thru it with.    About 3 -4 false peaks above the tree line so keep pushing  – dont get discouraged – to get to the highest peak in Arizona – 12.633!  it is totally worth the 360 view and on a clear day you can see the Grand Canyon.    Hiking sticks are a must on this one – saves the knees – especially on the way down or at the top when there are gale force winds – helps you hunker down.    Have done this one several times and still one of my fav in AZ!
