Little brother, best friend and myself got to the trailhead at about 10am. The trail was in perfect condition, hardly any snow (which wasn’t the case 2 weeks ago!) and the switchbacks were easy to follow. Absolutely beautiful views after about the first mile and a half. Total hike up to the lookout tower was about 1hr 45min, and didn’t pass many people – maybe 10 people max? Still pretty chilly and slightly windy, but it was sunny with a high near 60. I kept a light jacket on for the majority of the hike, regardless! The inclines weren’t bad at all, it was a great feeling to not be entirely out of breath for the entire hike up! A few bugs managed to get caught in my hair, but overall, they weren’t a bother at all. Spent an hour or so at the lookout tower landing, soaking in the sunlight and surrounding landscapes. The slight sunburn was worth every second! After an hour or so, we hiked back down. Hike down was about 2 hours on account of my repeatedly rolling ankle from an injury years ago, but just as beautiful and enjoyable. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and scenic hikes I’ve done in the Flagstaff area. Can’t wait to do it again!
