My BFF and I decided at the last minute to tag along another friend's training hike. We were supposed to meet up at Vincent Gap by 7am. Google Maps routed us via Hwy 39 to Hwy 2. I was 30 minutes out and nearing Hwy 2 when I saw my BFF driving down towards me. She informed me that the road was closed ahead, and we needed to take another route to get to Vincent Gap. The revised route took us to 210 > 15 > 138 > 2 via Wrightwood.  We got there an hour and a half later. Fortunately, we were able to get a message to our friend and she waited for us. And there was still parking available when we arrived.

We headed up the many switchbacks. It was a beautiful day. There are sections of the trail which were shaded, but even the parts in the sun were not too warm on this day. There were several other hikers out on the trail, along with possibly some PCT hikers. As we approached the top, we passed a few patches of snow. It was cool at the peak and the 360 views were spectacular. After having a snack, we made our way down. My BFF's dog had been doing great up until then. But on the way down, he was getting tired and stopping more. We eventually made it back to the parking lot without any issues.
