Mt. Wilson Loop hike, 14 miles, 7.5 hours to complete.  The parking lot opens at 6 am and when we arrived at 6:15 it was FULL!  We parked on the street along with lots of others.  Little did we know it was no parking on both sides of the road, even though there is no posted sign on one side.  $63 ticket for parking in a no parking zone! Temps were in the 50-60s and sunny.  Most of this hike is in the shade, which is great!  We crossed LOTS of streams – I'm sure earlier in the season the water was much higher but today was passable over some rocks or logs, but still slippery.  The trails were mostly firm, although there were signs of some recent rock slides.  Poison Oak is EVERYWHERE!  And the bugs, mosquitoes and other ones, were pretty bad, although less than 3 weeks ago.  The last hill up to the parking lot is a killer when you're tired.
