I started at 06:30 on a Sunday morning and it was already 73°  at the trail head. I was reading up on previous hikes and people were talking about others getting parking tickets for not having their wheels turned on the slight hill.   So I did it not to take a chance. Parking is free since you are in the residential but be respectful of the residents with noise and Trash. I powerered through the first half of the 7 miles climb in a hour and half and was feeling good. The second half kicked my butt and significantly slowed down and took more frequent breaks as the heat came up. It took me a total of 4 hours to to the climb to the cafe where I had a nice sandwich and a root beer float. I say up there for 45 minutes and filled up my reservoir a few more liters from the 2 liters I went though on the way up. There is a fill station at the cafe. The heat was definitely getting up to the high 80's on the way down, so I took a couple more short breaks there. I got back to my car at 13:50. Nice day all and all. I was a hard fought climb that never really let up.
