After reading from several hiker blogs, we still got lost for a short period trying to get to the trailhead. The road to the left of the fire station marked as 1W07 is the road to take though a sign there says private road. We turned around after reading that sign to drive around for a few minutes before realizing that it is the road to take. Also, the dirt road getting to the parking lot is rough and I would suggest a high clearance vehicle. Also, there are not a lot of spots and so getting there before six during weekends would help secure a spot. The trail from there is easy to follow and is in good shape. The first couple of miles is steep clearing over 700 ft in elevation gain per mile. After a couple of miles, you get to Manzanita Flats and you walk a good two miles on a pretty flat trail. From there, it's a quick hike to get to the Limber Pine campground. Ten minutes past the campground, there was a creek to refill water and rest. From there it is about 2 miles to the peak. The trail was not crowded and the weather was perfect for us. This hike was hard for me not because of the altitude or altitude gain but because of the distance. The switchbacks coming down past the Manzanita Flats appeared long but the good part is they are not as rocky as the switchbacks coming down from the peak to the campground. The views are amazing all along. Most of the trail through Manzanita Flats is pretty narrow. I would recommend long sleeves and pants. There is no cover for most of the hike from Manzanita Flats all the way to the peak and so start early. We felt the sun coming down. I carried a little over 3 liters of water and drank it all. Had I started  a little later in the day, I would have needed a lot more water. However, if the creek is running, you can always refill if you carry a filter and some of my friends did just that.
