This hike was the first time I had taken the South Fork Route and done the loop instead of an out and back. The loop takes you pass the crash site of the C-47 Memorial that went down on December 1st 1952. It was amazing to see how intact the wreckage is. You get the opportunity to pass Dollar Lake and Dry Lake on this trek. This was a tough hike since I was not feeling well. I was lucky to have two amazingly caring friends who remained patient with my slower pace. They say that it matters not how slow one goes but that they eventually get there. I was definitely that example on this hike!
