First 6pack peak done solo. Got to the trailhead around 630am with only a few cars. The weather was perfect in the mid 60s even at that hour. Got to the saddle by 830am and only ran into a few other hikers along the way. Plenty of spots to refill or practice using a water filter like this hiking newbie. After snagging bighorn peak first, I made it over to Ontario peak by 1030am. Had lunch and spent an hour chatting with an awesome group of hikers also doing the SoCal 6 pack. Encountered my first rattlesnake on the way back to the saddle which was quite an experience for this east coast city boy. Took a quick pit stop at timber peak before heading back to the trailhead. Finished the day around 3pm With just under 17 miles in the books. These peaks are addicting, I hope everyone agrees 🙂
