This was a fantastic climb up. We had tried the weekend before from the idyllwild side and decided to turn around at littlenround valley. We took the tram for the 1st time. What an experience in itself!
We started our hike and after a little less than a mile the snow comes in. Thick. Spikes and trekking poles at a minimum. We climbed and enjoyed all the mountain had to offer. The trail was nonexistant. You had many pct'er trails to follow, but none were on “trail”. The top was awesome. Great views of the mountains tonthe north and the desert to the east.
We got to meet some fellow hikers that we had been chatting with on social media and ended up hiking with them down back to the tram. Got to slide down some chutes. Had a well deserved beer at the bar before watching sunset on the tram, decending back to the parking lot.
