We opted to hike Mt. Lincoln during the July Heat Wave – 90 degrees at the base! Whew! The trailhead was busy, and we utilized the shuttle service – helpful and friendly staff. The walk up was hot, but alongside a river. We had intended to do the Franconia loop trail, but due to the extreme heat, walked up the Falling Waters Tail to the Ridge Trail, passed by Little Haystack and then touched Mount Lincoln and came back how we started. The view – and breeze – at the top made it all worth it! An active sauna kind-of-day.
