Okay, Melville, Hawthorne and Throeau weren't there that day, but at one point they were!

Hike was great. It was in the 60's to start although the humidity started to increase and that's when the bugs seemed to start to come out.  A nuisance only.

Went up Gould (follow the blue blazes as there are small offshoots), to Appalachian Trail (to the summit), then Thunderbolt down, although I think I might have ended up on Bellow Pipe towards the end.

When I was at the summit, someone had asked if I had just come up and which trails I was taking.  When I told him, he suggesting going back down Gould because Thunderbolt was very steep.  I appreciated the advice, but I really wanted to see a new trail, so on a went.  I found it was steep, but doable.  Thunderbolt had softer, wider trails whereas Gould was mostly rocks and roots – and single track most of the way. Glad I took Thunderbolt.

The summit was gorgeous!  I wish I had more time, but I had to keep moving.  It was a fairly clear day and you could see quite a ways out.

There were people around, but it was not crowded at all (Friday around lunch).

Very fun hike for me, but I don't know if I would take the kids or dog.  A little too steep for too long a period.  Or maybe I need to get my kids and dog out more often!
