We started our hike at 12:00 noon. I was pleased to see the amount of decorations they had at the start of the trail. A very nice and big “Volcan Mountain” sign, two carved wooden beams, and three pieces of metal art. So many picture opportunities and the trail didn't even start yet. I was told by friends that it was “up” all the way, it was! It was a gradual incline for the most part. There were good shady spots for having a drink or enjoying the breeze. I saw at least six different colored wild flowers in bloom, they were very pretty. Towards the peak of the mountain the trees start to give way to open grass fields where you can watch the wind dance along the grass tops. Watching the rolling hills of grass dancing in the wind was very cool. I do wish there was an actual stone or marker at the peak to take a picture with. Right before the peak there is a beautiful viewing spot where you can see mountains and hills for miles. This would be the best spot to take pictures at the top, or near it at least. Overall this was a VERY enjoyable hike on a VERY enjoyable day! I do recommend.
