Ascended to the summit in 2 hours and 7 minutes (with breaks) and did the descent in roughly an hour and 20 minutes. Discovered a new love/hate relationship for hiking switchbacks thanks to this trail! It’s not at all technical, just narrow with a few rocky and uneven areas (plus two downed trees) but most of the trail is manageable and shaded (thank god). The last bit to the summit is the most exposed. I think this trail can be done with or without trekking poles but I imagine anyone’s knees would prefer to have them. It was a great sunny day with a nice breeze, and not at all crowded on a Tuesday. Be prepared for the constant uphill battle right from the get-go.
