What a gorgeous hike. The climb up to Little Round Valley was pretty straightforward. There wasn’t much snow up to this point, but there were a few points that the trail was hard to follow. I would recommend downloading GPX tracks before you go.
Once you get to Little Round Valley, you’ll want microspikes. I got a late start so the snow was slushy, but the spikes still helped quite a bit and I doubt I would have felt safe going to the top without them.
Overall, this was one of my favorite hikes I’ve done in SoCal… with the snow only adding to the fun.
