Hiked Mount Wilson via Chantry Flats on a beautiful Saturday.  Arrived to Chantry Flats recreation area parking lot at 6:05 and lot was completely full, had to park further down the road on the side. So plan to arrive earlier then 6, for a spot in the lot on the weekend. The first 3 miles of the hike are absolutlely beautiful running alongside a stream with several waterfalls.  With all the snow run off, the water was flowing good and it made for a scenic and peaceful start of the hike.  We took a short break at Sturtevant Camp, which was a super fun place and someone had even made coffee and oatmeal for the hikers passing through! After Sturtevant Camp, the incline began to mount wilson and oddly, we noticed as soon as we left the camp, there were massive amounts of annoying bugs! Make sure to pack repellent! The hike deadends into the observatory which was also a fun place.  Had lunch at the cosmic cafe and chatted with fellow resting hikers 🙂 The decent to chantry flats from the observatory isn't as scenic as the climb. Overall a beautiful and challenging  hike!
