Chantry Flats acces road is still not open. I talked to a hiker who had walked the extra miles from the gate but had to return because fallen trees were blocking the Winter Creek trail. The Sierra Madre trail is a nice alternative: a good amount of elevation gain and a nice long stretch. I was fairly quiet on a Thursday morning, and after sunrise it warmed up quickly (no snow left). There is some minor wash-out from the rains, but nothing serious. The observatory seems closed as well, and the Cosmic Cafe is not open during this season anyway. There is running water though.
