My son and I hiked Mount Baden Powell Trail on Saturday July, 24th. There was plenty of parking when we arrived at 7:30 am. The trail was in great condition except for some trees that were on the trail that you can easily walk under or over. Lots of switch backs on this trail but beautiful scenery right away and a view of the desert cities. I loved the smell of the pine trees. When you approach the summit you walk a trail that reminded me a bit of Devils Back Bone. I wished I would have taken a picture of this unique tree at the point of this trail when you approach the summit. I would hike this trail again. Gorgeous 360 views from the top and you can see Mt. Baldy from the top which was awesome. At the summit there is a monument Baden Powell who the mountain is named after. He founded the Boy Scouts which I never knew. I loved driving through Wrightwood to get to this trail. Cool little town that I have never been too.
