Started the hike at 6:45 am and the parking lot still had some open spots. We hiked the counter clockwise loop. The ascent was difficult but rewarding. After 4 hours and 19 min and 3,737 ft of elevation gain we reached the top. The weather was nice with a light breeze all day although it started to heat up on the way down. The Devils Backbone trail was beautiful and so was the Baldy Bowl on the way down although I would definitely recommend hiking poles for the descent down the bowl. The Baldy Bowl was very rocky and steep and I couldn’t imagine myself ever attempting to use that trail for the ascent. That’s about it, peak 2 of 6 completed! On to the next one!
