It's Superbowl Sunday!
Been up Baldy countless times but never gone up via the bowl. Decided to hit chute 2. Apparently, this chute is the hardest? or steepest? and it's the chute that gets hit by sunlight first, meaning the first one to change it's snow conditions. It went almost vertical towards the end of the chute and the snow that's getting hit by the sun was starting to get slushy (bad news!). I literally just took the Waifu's pack towards the end so she can go lighter/faster up the vertical and Spartan'd my way up the finish line. She kinda started to get really mean, cussing, death threats, and I think at one point I heard divorce.. I had to get her out of that situation pronto LOL 😂
Most people think that you'll hit the summit right at the end of the chutes but it only takes you to the saddle. Surprise LOL! We made a last push and summited Baldy for our Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge number 2.
