I've been meaning to hike Mt. Diablo for a long time and thanks to the Six Pack of Peaks NorCal challenge I finally did it.

I started my hike at the Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center and took the Mitchell Rock Trail to Eagle Peak Trail . Along the way I stopped at Mitchell Rock and Twin Peaks.  This was long and strenuous but totally worth it.  I continued on the Eagle Peak Trail which meets up and end at the Bald Ridge Trail.  The Bald Ridge trail takes you past the Devil's elbow and then on to the Summit Trail.

The bugs on Bald Ridge trail were a bit of an annoyance.

There was a 50K event at Mt. Diablo and I passed a lot of 50K participants along the way.

The weather was perfect and the trails and scenery was incredible.

Highly recommended.
